Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know what kind of massage I need?
You don’t have to know — that’s our job! Every session is completely tailored to your body’s specific needs in that moment. Our highly trained therapists blend a variety of advanced modalities — including deep tissue, trigger point therapy, active release, myofascial techniques, and more — to create a customized treatment that targets your pain, restores mobility, and promotes lasting relief. Whether you're recovering from injury, managing chronic tension, or just feeling off, we’ll work with you to determine exactly what your body needs that day.

What is medical massage therapy?

Medical massage therapy is a targeted, outcome-based approach to massage that focuses on treating specific medical conditions, injuries, or chronic pain. It’s often prescribed by a healthcare provider and is tailored to the individual's clinical needs.

How is medical massage different from a regular massage?
Unlike general relaxation or spa massage, medical massage uses advanced techniques to address diagnosed health issues. Sessions are focused, therapeutic, and often part of a larger care plan involving physicians, physical therapists, or chiropractors.

 Do I need a doctor’s referral?
Nope! Since we do not bill medical insurance directly, you do not need a referral to book an appointment with our team.

What conditions can medical massage help with?
Medical massage can be effective for:

- Chronic pain (back, neck, shoulders, hips
- Sciatica and nerve compression
- Headaches and TMJD
- Sports injuries
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Whiplash and post-accident recovery
- Post-surgical recovery and scar tissue management
- Stress and anxiety-related muscle tension
& so much more.

Is medical massage covered by insurance?
Coverage depends on your provider and plan, We do NOT bill medical insurance at this time.
We can provide detailed receipts with billing codes upon request for reimbursement,
and are happy to work with you to navigate your options.

What should I expect during my first visit?
Your first session includes a health history intake and a brief assessment to determine the best treatment approach. You’ll remain comfortably draped and the therapist will explain each step to ensure your safety and comfort.

Will the massage hurt?
While medical massage may involve deeper or more specific techniques than a relaxation massage, it should never be painful. We always work within your comfort level and adjust pressure as needed.

What should I wear to my appointment?
You’ll undress to your comfort level. For most treatments, you'll be covered with a sheet or towel, with only the area being worked on exposed. Some techniques (e.g., cupping, IASTM) may require direct skin access.

What add-on services do you offer, and are they extra?
We offer the following at no additional charge, upon request:
Clinical-grade CBD oil
Hot stones
Cupping therapy
IASTM / Gua Sha
Hot towels
These tools are chosen based on your therapeutic goals and are always optional.

How often should I come in for treatment?
The frequency depends on your condition, goals, and progress. Some clients benefit from weekly sessions during recovery, while others transition to monthly maintenance.

Can I combine medical massage with other treatments like physical therapy or chiropractic care?
Absolutely. Medical massage works synergistically with other therapies
to support healing, improve mobility, and reduce pain.

Do you treat children, seniors, or pregnant clients?
Yes, we offer specialized care for a variety of populations. Pediatric massage, geriatric care, and prenatal massage are available—each with modifications to ensure safety and effectiveness.
